Faulty ati card hd 5450

I think I have a bad card, the video is patchy and at times pixels smear accross the screen. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, updated them, rolled back to default, took the card out and put it back in nothing works. There is an output on the board that works fine, so I am assuming its the card, but I wanted to ask some experts.

If that means there is an onboard graphics chip, you need to disable that in BIOS.
Make sure the PSU can take the load.
Check card's temperatures.
Finally, borrow and test a different card.

That's what I would do.

Thanks for the reply, I installed another card (same model) and it worked great so I think it was just a bad card. I returned it and kept the one that worked.
