Hi.
I was looking for a rudimentary laptop to do some onboard diagnostics on my
cars. My neighbour was kind enough to loan me an older Compaq Presario
1255,
and it did the scan flawlessly! I decided to buy the laptop from him and
now wish to upgrade the meager 32mb of hardwired memory to its max of
160mb -- with 128mb.
My question is: pc100 backward compatible with the "suggested" pc66? If
so, will any 128mb PC100 144pin Sodimm sdram work in this laptop? ..say a
stick from an Armada M700?

The answer is yes and yes. I have one.

You say you have a Presario 1255?! What brand and part number of 128mb ram
are you using? ..because I've read that all pc100 ain't the same and won't
necessarily work. So I need specifics. There is a lot more pc100 out there
than the pc66 stuff.
