Im hoping some one can give me a quick lesson on RAM.

The specs for the Intel 3930k processor state that it only supports 1600mhz RAM. Does this mean that getting 1866mhz ram would be a waste because it would only run at 1600mhz? How does this work?

Motherboard: Asus P9X79 Deluxe

Thanks

Solution
that means you will have to overclock the CPU to use ram with a clock higher than 1600mhz,keep in mind that sandy bridge computers does its best performance at 1600mhz ram memory
