I have finally decided to buy an i5 2500k as the CPU instead of a Phenom II X4 965. Of course it will cost me more money, so I need to find a many savings as possible. I want every component to be as cheap as possible without sacrificing quality. However, I'm not going 'cheap' on the PSU or motherboard. I would like the motherboard to stay around $150 and the PSU around $80-$90. I like the XFX 650w on newegg that has a rebate to make it $60. Although I'm not sure if 650w will be enough for SLI/Crossfire, newegg doesn't think so(PSU calculator). I'm also not in need of a GPU immediately. GPUs are not the cheapest and the i5 2500k has integrated HD 3000 so that should last me until I can buy one.

I have seen that newegg's PSU calculator is not very accurate. If so, is 650w enough to power a i5 2500k and SLI? I would like to know by tonight so I can get the XFX 650w that has a $10 code.

What vid cards are you wanting to run ? Different cards require different wattage and amps.

"I'm also not in need of a GPU immediately. GPUs are not the cheapest and the i5 2500k has integrated HD 3000 so that should last me until I can buy one."

That statement would be true if you went for an H67 chipset motherboard, but then you wouldn't be able to reap the benefits of the k processor.

You seem to have now settled on a P67 board, so you will need a discrete GPU.
