Windows 8 waking from sleep on its own?

Hi I was wondering if anyone knows where I can look to find out why windows 8 randomly wakes from sleep? I'll put the pc to sleep and it randomly wakes back up on its own, but no program pops up so its not something I can visually see related to it? :-/

Not as big of a deal, but I can only seem to wake the computer from the power button as well, not my keyboard & mouse.

ah, your article is awesome! thank you, friend. I have actually already checked most of those tips, but I was not aware of the command prompt commands. Upon closer look, it seems my windows 8 is set to a "system maintenance" at a certain time, although I don't recall the computer waking at the specified time. it has been random. Anyways, I will start putting my PC back to sleep and monitor the next time it wakes back up, and adjust settings accordingly.

If the culprit is a scheduled task, would it be possible to allow the pc to run said task, but make it promptly go back to sleep when finished?

Ok so I think I figured it out because of your link you provided. after digging, it turns out that windows media center was running an update every morning at 4:02 am... not sure why it was set at such a specific time, lol. but I reduced it to once a week and disabled the allow to wake computer option. we shall see how this goes. im still curious though does anyone know if its possible to schedule the pc to go back to sleep after waking to run its task?
