  1. Hello tharmusa;

    Is there type of multimedia activity your feel your system isn't performing well?

    I know this chart is mainly geared toward gaming but it groups CPUs and tries to point out what would be logical upgrades based on performance. I think it's likely to apply to your multi-media tasks as well.

    THG recommends moving up three tiers higher
    Gaming CPU Hierarchy Chart

    3 tiers above your E5200:
    Core 2 Quad Q6700, Q9300, Q8400, Q6600, Q8300
    Core 2 Duo E8600, E8500, E8400, E7600
  3. Just in case it might be something like hard disk performance or graphics card not helping out on encoding video, etc., it's probably a good idea to list all your system components.

    My computer runs perfect in it's current configuration. I am looking for possible upgrades in the future. I am already running a GT9500 video card, I will probably upgrade to 8 gig of ram at the very least. But I am satisfied with it's operation right now.
    Thanks for the assistance. I see a Q9300 in my distant future.

    Tom
