New build comments and suggestions?

Hello,

Building a new machine after getting some ideas from the forum and net. Primary purpose will be to run equipment (that relies on both USB 2.0 and RS-232), analyze images (2D), data analysis, and low-end coding.

Budget: Is not really an issue, however I suspect that I can get all I need within $1300

I need help with

(1) picking up a P67 motherboard as options tend to fluctuate with availability.
(2) deciding whether should I stay with a 2600 SB or get a 2600K (won't be overclocking)
(3) should I get an after market cooling system?

Here is the list of items I have considered so far:

More about build comments suggestions
  1. Really? no comments?
  2. Everything you have listed up there looks solid imo. Here's a few decent H67 boards worth taking a look at.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128474 $129.99
GIGABYTE GA-H67MA-UD2H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel H67 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131710 $139.99

  3. But I thought that with an H67 board you couldn't add a graphics card, correct? (or there would be serious conflict with the board) The apps I am running do require a bit more juice such as the one offered by discreet cards.

Also, looking for a full ATX board...

    Any suggestions?

You can add a gpu to those boards. Those boards don't over clock like the P67 boards...but ya, they have PCI-E slots for the graphics card.
  5. I think I am settling on this board, it has the right number of slots:

    ASUS P8P67 LE (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 $150

Any final thoughts on points 2 and 3?
