Hello,
I have a toshiba mini nb205, I'm trying to find some info if replacing the disk drive and the "motherboard" are the same thing internally

The motherboard is the main piece of silicon that coordinates the activities of the various parts of the PC. It looks something like this in a laptop:

The disk drive is the attachment that reads CDs and DVDs. It plugs into the motherboard, and looks something like this:

The motherboard is vital to the operation of a computer, but the disk drive is not.

Where would be the best place to find a new or re-conditioned motherboard for this machine, and/or could it be replaced with a similar board? Or should I just junk it for parts? I have already replaced the disk drive with a different one so Im sure the problems I am having would be contained within the motherboard.
