Hello,

I have a
Intel Core i5-650 Clarkdale 3.2GHz 4MB L3 Cache LGA 1156
ASUS P7H55-M PRO motherboard

and I just got a ASUS 6950 HD video card today!

I followed techpowerup.com instructions on unlocking my 6950 HD video card.

I opened up GPU-Z, saw all the stats, cool.
Then I unzipped and opened ati winflash.

Techpowerup.com had a link to a sapphire 6970 bios and i downloaded it. I load it into atiwinflash, hit program

And then

SubstemID Mismatch!

No go!

I tried it with the switch in both positions on the asus video card, and still, same thing.

Is the bios bad? I got it off techpowerup.com.

Is there a different bios?

What am i doing wrong?

Why do i get that error?

Hi Anastrophy.

If you read at the bottom of the section "Unlocking the Shaders" in the TechPowerup article there is a line

"If you get an error like ID mismatch or Could not erase ROM, then you'll have to do some extra work in a Windows command prompt (or DOS): Run atiwinflash -unlockrom 0 followed by atiwinflash -f -p 0 bios.bin where bios.bin is the path and filename of the HD 6970 BIOS you downloaded. "

There is a link to the instructions on how to do it.

Make sure your bios switch is in the #1 position.

I unlocked my Sapphire 6950 to an Asus 6970 @ 890 / 1375.

I hope this helps
