Dell Dimension 4600 Upgrade

Hey guys first time posting on this site and first time actually upgrading something more than just the RAM. I have an old computer and don't really have money for anything else in the moment just around $250. Looking to upgrade some hardware on my Dell Dimension 4600, mostly the Power supply, the GPU, and if I can the processor. I tried doing some research online and saw a lot of people doing the same in the last few years, but I couldn't get enough information because most people just recommended buying a new PC, I can't do that at the moment and have already the perfect GPU for the computer (HIS iceq Radeon 4670) and probably a 450w Power Supply. I don't plan on buying any new games just to play the old games I have and to get some experience in this types of upgrades as I will in the distant future build a PC from the ground up. Any help will be great. The mother board model is 02Y832 and the Chipset is i865p/PE/G/i848P. I don't really understand all of that and just want to upgrade from my 2.4Ghz Processor to at least 2.8 with HT or 3.2, Again thanks for your time.

  3. I will tell u this much, for $350-$400 u can build a PC that will blow this one to be donated to charity.

As I look at it to invest money to old system that will bottle neck your games. I would not do that.

Could u put together at least $350?
  4. And u could put it together by yourself.
  5. Well if that is the case yeah I might come up with more money what type of parts where you thinking off cause I honestly got only around $400 dollars max. I really appreciate the help.

Budget! Its not about the looks. LOL

I have seen that RAM for sale ,the red one, for $29.99 as well, so when u are ready, ask here again or private msg me and we can recheck the prices again.
  20. Thanx for the vote : ))
  21. I didn't know it was so affordable I had seen some online and thought all I could do was upgrade that old PC but seeing this new PC and knowing I can build it will make this a really fun hobby and best part at a really good budget. Hopefully one day I will be able to build something that can blow away my consoles.
  22. The CPU's got really great and if u will wait a month, there is new one coming in,

the Ivy Bridge, and these others will drop the price or the new one will be cheaper as the

U want to install x64bit, because it will allow u to use more RAM than 4GB!
