Graphics driver update + resolution problem

Hello,

I'm using an Emerson LD195M8 Hd 720p TV as a monitor, which I run games at 1440 x 900 resolution with, or I used to... I'm using a gtx 460 786mb gpu and I updated to the latest driver (266.58) and it causes some games to lose the option for me to run in 1440 x 900 resolution. In a sense, it makes my gpu think my monitor has different specs. Most of the games I've tried don't have a problem with this, they run at 1440 x 900. Though, I had to create a custom resolution on my nvidia control panel because I lost the 1440x 900 option for desktop resolution as well.

I've tried power strip, but I don't exactly know how to use it and it doesn't seem to like the 1440 x 900 resolution. Help would be greatly appreciated...

Native max resolution for 720p monitors is 1366 x 768!

But I've played every single game at 1440 x 900 with no problem... I swear I am not lying... With the 1366 x 768, it has the black bars on top and bottom. I set my TV to full screen mode, but I don't think that helps in anyway.

I believe these are the right specs for me TV:

Looks like you were right it does support 1440x900

720P = 1,280x720

Did you get a driver CD with the TV?

Geez, I don't even know. I'd have to look around

Nope. I bought the TV a loooong time ago. If any disc came with the tv, it's gone.

The following signals can be displayed:
Format Resolution V. Frequency

VGA Connection, from what I have read in your manual it should act as a monitor.

VGA 640 x 480 60Hz
WXGA 1280 x 720 60Hz
SVGA 800 x 600 60Hz
1280 x 768 60Hz
WVGA 848 x 480 60Hz
1360 x 768 60Hz
XGA 1024 x 768 60Hz
BOIS 720 x 400 70Hz
WXGA+ 1440 x 900 60Hz

I think your better off rolling back to earlier drivers until they iron this out. It's probably reading it as 720p monitor and it's throwing it off because of the capable resolution.

And it does not come with drivers on cd because there aren't any.

Well, I actually got things working now the power strip. Everything is working fine as of now on the current drivers. Though, it does feel like I've lost some fps.
