What is the difference between "DDR PC2 - 5300" and "DDR PC2 - 6400"

What is the difference between "DDR PC2 - 5300" and "DDR PC2 - 6400".

I want to upgrde from 2 to 4 Gigs RAM.

How do I know what speed the chips I already have are?

More about what difference 5300 6400
  1. The difference is non visible : )) But u can use that range if u need to combine the RAM together.

    I wasn't sure if the 5300-6400 were speeds & if so, which is the fasterof the two?

    And Thanks for the heads up on the email, I hadn't thought about the spammers.

  4. DDR2 5300 is 667 Front side bus speed
    DDR2 6400 is 800 Front Side Bus speed

    The 6400 is faster, but only by hair thin victory : ))
