new build: Gigabyte A75M-D2H mainboard :AMD A8 3870 APU : G.SKILL Ripjaws X 1866 with 2 x 4Gb dimms.

Won`t boot most of time - no `post test'. When does boot can`t load into memory (Hirens Windows XP PE etc).
Adding PCie videocard fails to solve problem.
Clearing BIOS does`nt solve.

HAD PROBLEMS IN PAST (2002) AMD ATHLON & GIGABYTE MAIN-BOARD - NO BOOT - NO VIDEO. CAUSE- BIOS NEEDS UPGRADING
BUT CAN`T AS NO VIDEO. HAD TO RETURN & CHANGE MOTHERBOARD.

HAVE GIGABYTE DONE THIS YET AGAIN ?????

Any ideas?

Thanks

Try one module at a time in the initial slot. If you can get into BIOS, input the basic memory settings (frequency, timings, voltage), APU-NB Voltage +0.1V, then it should work fine to specification. If it is difficult for the modules to boot, try other memory to see if it may be a problem with other hardware.

The hardware is surely compatible since we have that exact combo here for testing.

Thank you
