Dell XPS 17" internet not working?

I recently got a new Dell XPS 17", which I had been excited about for a while. I just got it a few weeks ago, and it's great with gaming, but the only problem is the internet.

The internet works fine on other systems, but when it comes down to the internet on the Dell XPS, the internet is painfully slow. I cannot even watch YouTube or play games online with it. I'm not sure if anyone else hs this problem either.

I also have a network card installed into the computer: an Intel WiFi Link 1000 BGN. I'm not sure if this is, or is part of the problem. I have done the solution where you enable WMM and change a setting from '2.0 MHz Only' to 'Auto', I've reset my router & my modem, and I've reset the computer. At some points, the internet does run fast, but most of the time, it's slow. Can someone help me, so this Dell purchase does not end up going in for a refund?
