Can i change anything on my motherboard to allow me to install more ram

if you don't have any memory slot left ..... you can only replace your existing RAM to a high capacity RAM... and the total memory the MB support is limited by the Chipset.... nothing you can add to change that.

I don't know of any adapters that allow for additional DIMMS in a slot I have seen Notebook to Desktop memory adapters but that is about it.

So given that you are left with adding higher capacity RAM and a possibly a BIOS update that allows for adding compatibility for higher capacity RAM. The only other thing to do to add more RAM is get a motherboard that supports more memory.
