i installed this card then i tested starcraft 2 for about 5-6 minutes.exited the game and the card was temp of 92c.starcraft was playing kind of sluggish compared to my 8600 gts.also does the card support 1024x768 resolution? i set it to that size and fonts looked a little weird.it worked with 1280x1024 but the desktop looked small.the drivers i used for galaxy 460 was 260.99.bought the card at fry's

i am guessing that it may be your antec 380 W PSU. The GTX 460 requires at least a 450 W PSU as a minimum requirement. You can check nvidia.com.
Did you try posting this in nvidia forums?

The 250 GTS will be good enough to for a 1024 X 768 res.
PS: What do you mean by correctly ? You mean with good FPS?

Cooldude209, don't trade in a great graphics card! Go get a real power supply that can power your empire! You know you'll be adding other goodies to your system in the future, so position your setup for the upgrades to come.

To the OP.

You need a better PSU, i'd suggest a 500W one from Corsair or Antec.

You also really need to do some proper cable routing, part of the temp problem may be a lack of airflow to the card because of all those cables!

update:i was using 258.96 drivers which were downloaded from galaxytech's site.just yesterday i downloaded 266.58 from nvidia's site and 1024x768 desktop resolution works fine now.also the reason for high temps was because the blue sata cable was blocking the gpu fan.now temp as i'm typing is 33c.max i gotten after gaming is 61c.hope thats normal.thanks all for the help.

That's very good, make sure your cables aren't blocking things elsewhere, good airflow is the key to a healthy gaming system.
