Dvd says device is working properly but did not start a related device driver

cd dvd rom just stopped working. I have ran all kinds of scans ... no viruses . windows 7 laptop ... says device working properly but windows did not start related device driver.

system specs, what scans did you run, have you updated your drivers etc etc etc!
