The machine has been running solid for about a week+ now with no issues. My first question is regarding a red LED on bootup on my motherboard. On the ASUS P8P67 Mobo a small red LED light lights up on bootup in the top right corner. The only information I can find on this online and/or in the product manual is some MEM:! OK LED. I can’t find any info anywhere in regards to what it means, what I should do, fixes, etc… If anybody has any help here it would be greatly appreciated! It has been lighting up since day 1.
The main problem im writing about today is a power issue. When I first turn on the computer it starts booting up and after 5-8 seconds it powers down by itself (sounds just like somebody pulled the plug out). Without me touching anything and after a few more seconds it turns itself back on and boots up properly.
Here is a brief video of this issue http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WZ_fTKzZLI
This is a new problem which just came about the other day. The ONLY thing I have done different or changed is my monitor. I went from a Dell 20” to a ASUS 24”. I can’t recall if the power issue started immediately after hooking up the new monitor.
Any suggestions? I spoke with some of the lead engineers at my office and one mentioned to try installing drivers for the monitor. He said the computer might be booting up and not see any monitor. Then it might be shutting itself down to re-boot up with standard monitor settings. I’m running a HDMI cable FYI.
Thanks in advance
