Cannot see jumpy green audio bars.

i cannot see the green jumping bar in the windows volume thing even though i have sound playing.

help?

Right click on the Volume Control icon in your tray and select Playback Devices. Make sure the proper playback device is set as default.

i did and its set to my speakers. i can see the green bar jumping in there but not in the volume control. thnx for quick reply

And the speakers are not muted anywhere else in the system? Select the speakers from you Sound menu and click the Properties button at the bottom of the window. Unmute everything in the Levels tab and see if you get any sound. If this doesn't work, open the Device Manager and remove your sound driver (but don't check the box to delete it if there is one). Reboot and let Windows pick up the sound controller again.

oh sorry forgot to mention before that i can hear the music, i just can see the green bars. i cannot hear any system sounds but, like when double click. Every other sound works, music, movies and games.
