Hey there, I happen to have come across a used Asus P6T Deluxe V2 mobo(X58) and would like to test it to see if it's still functional.
However I want to understand what the potential risks, if there are any, are of installing a perfectly fine cpu(my own i7) and ram.
Are there any safer alternatives so I wouldn't risk my wrecking my current hardware?
Any guidance is appreciated, thanks!

I'm not sure if the mobo is damaged or not that's the thing, that's why I want to test it.
I have an i7-970 so it's compatible with this mobo, but I don't know if it's worth the risk to try it out.
