Hello all!

I'm am curently building a dual procesor workstation. I was thinking of buying one, but the prices are a bit to high for me. So I went out looking what i could do myself.
I need a machine for 3d rendering, thread programing, and video procesing. From time to time, it should also run a game or two :)

So I was looking at these two motherboards:

Supermicro X8dal-i
http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/QPI/5500/X8DAL-i.cfm

and

Asus Z8na-d6c
http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=k81cpN8uEB01BpQ6

I read about some problems, tht the cooling on the supermicro is to close to the PCIx 16, so that a big graphic card doesnt fit so good, and that asus has a shady support?

So if anyone has any experience with these two boards please share it :) Or if you know of a better motherboard in the same price rank (300$).

Thank you all for the answers.

Hello T0m1sl4v;

If you're looking for opinions on those two motherboards you might want to edit your topic title and put the make/model into the title.

That's the best way to attract anyone that might own those boards to look inside your topic.
