Somewhat apprehensive to try this again. I was going to try a build late last year based on the i7 950, but took the advice and waited on SB. Hopefully most of the bugs are gone and I am only risking my dignity and $1500!

Approximate Purchase Date: No huge hurry, 4-5 weeks at most

Budget Range: Less is more, under $1500 hopefully

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, general PC uses. Will be using photo shop to print and edit photos later. Of course internet.
No online gaming.

Parts Not Required: All I have is a broke Dimension 2350 and this key board. I will need to get a monitor also, but I may have to go over on the cost.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Where ever it is cheapest, online or walk in. Near Dallas so allot to choose from.

Country of Origin: U.S.A.

Parts Preferences: Intel???

Overclocking: Maybe, like the option, but never have

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe, like the option also

Monitor Resolution: I have some leeway here, like to keep the viewable to 22" or less

Additional Comments: I want to be able to go into a store and get any game I want and be able to play it, for at least a month. I had my old PC (store bought) for 6 years with a little upgrading and as time went by things became limited. I realize that will happen again, but I hope to get the "basics" so I can have room to grow. I Hope you guys can help an "old" guy out. I work nights and games help me stay awake on my off day's

Only thing I'm pretty stuck on is the MB.

I think the OS will allow me to play allot of my old games?

It's either try to do it my self on here with you guy's or go "store bought" again, if I can do this, I think I will have a better machine. A little nervous about all the "it's not working" threads. LOL

Thanks in advance

Everything looks good so far, only problem i think you might run into is the Heatsink getting in the way of your G-Skill ripjaw ram especially if you ever decided to put ram on all 4 slots...

Although i think the Asus Sabertooth motherboard would look really nice with the Noctua heatsink with Noctua fans...since it has beige on the fans and motherboard :p

Bignac80, Thanks for the reply.

I want to be able to add RAM later. I was going to get only 4gb of the g.skill (2x2, cheaper), but I was unclear on correct matching of RAM , I went to Asus QVL and G Skill web site, helped a little. maybe I can adjust something in the RAM Dept.

I will take a look at the Noctua too. I wasn't even sure if I need the heat sink?
