What is your budget and power supply, what resolution do you game at?

a 5750 would be the max I'd try and put on that. The processor probably won't even push that card to it's potential. 9600gt/4850/5750/gts250....??? all look a little overkill TBH.

your CPU is very old.Upgrade the processor and GPU.

I had a 4800X2 and an 8800GTS 512 on a DFI Lanparty board.
I bought a new gigabyte board, and Phenom II 920 processor, and dropped the 8800GTS onto that board. My graphics improved a solid 50%.
You really need a complete platform upgrade to get much out of a modern GPU, even a low end one.
What exactly are the results you are hoping for? What do you want to do?
