I currently use an EVGA GTX275 on my i7-920 gaming PC and want to upgrade to an EVGA GTX570. Two questions....

1.) Should I keep the GTX 275 as a PHYSX card for the few games that use it or get my $100+ on ebay for it? (Note: I do not want to buy another GTX 275 to SLI. I would rather get a single faster card and DX11. I game at 1680x1050 for now, 1920x1200 is next for me.)

(I currently don't play any titles that feature PHYSX. I mostly play BF:BC2, Empire:Total War, CIV5 and Starcraft 2 and will probably play the new Batman game, BF:BC3, Diablo 3, Dragon Age 2 and Crysis 2 once they release. I think Batman will be the only PHYSX title. Any new games on the horizon that should tempt me to keep the 275 for PHYSX? From what I read, PHYSX may be slowly on it's way out anyway.)

2.) My PSU is a Corsair 850TX. Will it be enough for my 570, 275, and 3 hard drives in my CM HAF 932? I am thinking it is, but just wanted other opinions.

Thanks.

i think you PSU should be able to handle it. even GTX570 in SLI will be fine. regarding physx you can use lesser card as a dedicated physx. i think GTX275 is quite overkill for that purpose. anyway have you considered to SLI in the future? if yes then i think you shouldn't be too worried about physx. GTX570 in SLI should be able to handle games with heavy physx without dedicated physx card

Thnx renz496. I would like to avoid SLI as I don't think I would see too much of a benefit gaming at 1680x1050. Perhaps if I went to a 27" 1920x1200 or 2560x1440 monitor I would think about it.

So, what games would convince me to keep my GTX 275 as a PHYSX card at all? Also, I wouldn't sell my GTX 275 just to buy a $80-$100 card for PHYSX. I might as well keep the GTX 275 and pay the increased power bill using it would bring.

Thanks mousemonkey. SLI is way out of my budget...the one 570 is a stretch for me right now, so if I sell the GTX275 the cash would go toward the one 570. I think that is the way I am going to go.

@nforce4max - I did try Mafia II and didn't care much for it, but I have seen videos of the game with PHYSX on and the particle effects, etc. did look nice. Like I said, I think I will sell the GTX275 to lessen the blow on my wallet for the GTX570.

Thanks everyone for the replies!
