Hey there,

The "How dd you like XP" thread was s good read and unfortunately I am one of those frustrated user of WinXP Pro especially when trying to dial out with my Lucent Venus Serial Voice Modem.

Here's the specs for it.

External Modem uses the Lucent Chipset and XP auto detected the chipset and installed it as V1456VQE. I thought... kewl.. auto detected.. I like it....

But when I try to dial out with the modem, it says Error 619 the remote computer has disconnected you.

I mean what gives? I have tried so many drivers from many manufacturer with the same chipset and it still doesn't work. I manage to get connected occasionally with the Standard 56 K.. but something is still not right. It takes forever to to verify the username and password.

Anyone got any idea?

Mick
