i just bought i3 2100 + asus p8h61mlx with 4gb ddr3

If i go for a 2gb stick(along with the 4gb stick) will they work in dual channel.

Plz explain the whole scenario.

i thought of 2x2gb but that would fill all dimm slots with just 4gb & i know 4gb would be less than enough soon in the future.

should i:
#1. get 4 gb replaced with 2x2gb
#2. get a 2gb in dual channel with 4gb
#3. continue using 1x4gb for a yr and then get another 4gb in dual channel.(8gb will be overkill for my working)

More about : 4gb 2gb dual channel

1 2gb stick wont work in dual channel mode...the purpose of dual channel mode is increasing the bandwidth the CPU adresses through making them work as one ,and i vote do #3
