Hey i bought a Radeon HD 4350 512mb edition and i just overclocked my CPU a little so i looked on Canyourunit.com just to see if it worked and it said my 4350 is now 743mb instead of 512... what happened? not saying this is a bad thing im just wondering if this is bad or whats going on

If you are using win 7 or vista, than you see 743mb vram for shared system memory.

Nope Windows XP and it's dedicated not shared.

It's not possible.

 

Either it's shared, or it's simply misreading the amount of vram you have.

 

EDIT: it's definitely misreading it. It thinks my 4870x2 has 744 MB, despite the fact that it actually has 1024 per GPU.

All that article is saying is that your graphics card can use system RAM, It doesn't explain why the website thinks cjl's 4870X2 only has 744MB, when infact each GPU has 1024MB

yea my graphics card is dedicated not shared... and i know it only has 512mb becuase it says it on the box.

I've got no idea what's up with the number cjl is getting. Though if mithness sees a similar number in dxdiag as to what the site shows him it would explain things a bit for him.

OMG totally forgot about Dxdiag lol anyways it says approx. total memory 512.0mbs
