Heys guys, im planning to make my own gaming rig very very soon, and I would like your opinion's about what I am getting, and what I should replace with and also price tag/link site's if you can.
Well heres what I have decided to get so far, so please tell what I should change and keep.

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-2600K Processor
(8M Cache, 3.40 GHz)

Motherboard: GIGABYTE - Socket 1155 - GA-P67A-UD4-B3 (rev. 1.1)

RAM: G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3-2133 8GB RAM <---I think this doesnt fit O__O" LOL!

GPU: GeForce GTX 570 <----- Which brand should I get?

PSU: Antec True Power 750Watt

Case: Ravern 01 <----Still not sure about this case

Storage: x2- Spinpoint 2Tb
x1- SSD 120Gb

DVD: LG BluRay combo

Cooling: Corsair H70 <---Not sure about this

Yes I will be O'C'ling, and future I will be running SLi.
Is there anything I missed out?

CPU: i5 2500k...the hyperthreading on the 2600k is useless for a gamer such as yourself...thats $ 100 saved

Motherboard - this is ok as long as your happy with it..if anything (my opnion) get a p8p67 deluxe asus motherboard..it's top-notch

Ram: 8gb is a bit much for gaming..$gb ram @ 1600 mhz is sufficient

PSU- A fine psu IMO...I would have gotten corsair, but that's just mean..aesthetically speaking, it looks sharp...but the performance is also there..but the psu you have listed is good

Case: Perhpaps the fortress ft02 or corsair 600T case...the corsair case has great cable management features and will make life easy when putting that bad boy together

Sotrage - Looks Good!

DVD- A fine player (but are you gonna watch blu rays for sure?)

Cooler- H70 is great,..keeps my temps really low and is very easy to install..

Reply to asantesoul

if you plan on running sli in the future or crossfire... make sure the motherboard you get has good spacing... the deluxe is good for that..the gigabyte board you have is good as well.. it will have the efi bios at some point..however, the asus boards have that already ...also, now that I think about it..maybe get a 850 watt psu if you can..that way when you have an overclock on the cpu, and 2 cards (in the future) your power usage wont be compromised

Well, I aint getting anything below what I have listed, not unless it is better than what I have listed.
Yes i will be watching BluRay x]
Apparantly its REALY loud =s

Reply to sunglail

what do you mean below? ..are you that adamant about getting a 2600k? do you need the four virtual cores? that badly? for a gaming computer? when none of the extra cores will be utilized? If its for editing/folding or anything that actually requires a vast amount of that power..then go right ahead..but, for gameers..it's utterly useless

Like ummmm I want something newer if you know what I mean? O__O"
I hope that made sense lol

Reply to sunglail

lol..it does..it gives you that "feeling"..and, if that's what makes you feel good..who am i to knock you right? I merely suggest it so that you can put the money where you'll see better results..most gamers for the 2500k because it overclocks soooo well..and the extra 4 cores does absolutely nothing for gamers..in fact, the extra cores may hinder your games performance some of the time...that extra saved could towards a better gpu..or case..or w/e..but if you want the 2600k (this platforms 980x, kinda) then go for it...no one will be mad at you

Well like I said, if the i5 2500k performs better for games, then yes I will change it to that. I think I said that haha
And yes it does give me that "Feeling", but if the older models are better than the newer than yes I would rather get that, aslong as it perfomes better and the quality of it is better, then I am more than happy to change to it =]

Reply to sunglail

older models of what? I think we are thinking of different things lol..juss get the i5 2500k...once you overclock it..you'll be set!

So the i5 2500k OC'ed is better than the i7 2600k?

Reply to sunglail

In games, yes. unless you disable the Hyper Threading on the 2600K you will see a performance hit in some games. And if you disable the Hyper Threading, you may as well have a 2500K.

The 2600K and 2500K came out at the exact same time, one is not "Newer" than the other, they're just two different chips with different features.

Your build looks amazing and I have to say I'm a little jealous.

Graphics card brand makes zeero difference these days, just go with whatever brand you like the look of / has a good special offer. I usually get ASUS graphics cards cos I like the bundled stickers LOL.

Curious as to why you would not go for a 580 instead of a 570 though, if you want the best?

As for the SSD, wait for the OCZ Vertex 3, you'll be glad you did.

Really? You must be shopping somewhere very expensive?

Reply to Ten98

Very expensive indeed; I spec'd out a build with a 580 recently and got it under $2,000. What country are you in/websites ordering from?

------------------------------ Intel Core i7-930 @ 4.0 GHz / Foxconn Flamingblade / Sapphire Radeon 5850 + Gigabyte Radeon 5850/ Corsair 6 GB 1600/ ASUS 23" 1920x1080

No thanks with those case LOL!
Cable management shouldn't be too hard =]

Would the extra 400mhz improve the performance?

I'm in a similar build situation and this is what i came up with...

CPU - Intel I5-2500k ~ 224.99
Mobo - MSI P67A-GD65 (combos with RAM below for -$15) ~ 179.99
GPU - EVGA GTX 580 ~ 499.99 (the sparkle brand combos with the processor)
PSU - Corsair 850W (Currently on sale and current promo -$15) ~ 149.99 w/ savings
RAM - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2x4GB) @ 1600 ~ 129.99
HDD - Western Digital Caviar Black 750GB 6.0Gb/s (current promo -$20) 59.99 w/ savings
OS - Windows 7 Home ~ 99.99
My Case was only $110

I didnt need media drives...

Less than $1500 all from Newegg

~ $1454.99 +$26.99 shipping (before tax)

hope this helps

what resolution are you playing @ for the game? gtx 580 may be excessive..the gtx 570 or 6970 will suffice if playing at 1080p or 1920x1200

Yea its gonna be in 1920x1200

Reply to sunglail

gtx 570 or 6970...heck..even the gtx 560Ti will work! That's what im using and i max all my games right now.. if you get the right gtx 560 (twin frozr, direct cu II) you can overclock the card and have near gtx 570 speeds @ stock

Reply to asantesoul

I'm using a GTX 560 Ti build for mine. it's 100 USD less, and i'm pretty sure it'll preform well in SLI. buy the MSI twin frozr ones and get MSI afterburner. Heck, i oc'ed my current 9800 GT to 730/1800/950 (core/ shaders/ mem) with it! it even has volt tweaking!!

For the case, if you don't need it to be too big, try one of these!: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] et&x=0&y=0 I'm using them. Just be sure to map out the mobo, gpu, and PSU size compared to the case with a tape measure. That's what i did. Remember, L/W/H.

pull the trigger on this right now if you can..

Ill think about this =]

Just want to know which GPU can draw out the most potential with the CPU and Mobo I have chosen, NVidia or ATi Radeon?

Reply to sunglail

nvdia's cards have better driver support most of the time...more features as well..3d vision..cuda..you'd be better off getting an nvdia card unless you want to use multiple displays..then a single radeon card (68**/69**) will do it for you
