Installed new cpu fan now computer keeps turning off

Hello,
Just installed a ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT ultra quiet CPU Cooler in my ZT Desktop. Desktop has an ASUS P5N-MX Motherboard. Computer will start, fans seems to be working, but it shuts down in any where from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. I've taken the Zalman out and reinstalled, checked the power cable (it's in the correct spot on the motherboard). Am frustrated. Any ideas?

Carefully observe and check to see whether the Zalman fan is running when the computer is operational. It is quite possible that the mobo is seeing the Zalman fan as defective, and as a precautionary measure is shutting off the computer.

OR, the sensing circuit is bad on the fan.
