Compatibility Question

Hello everyone,

I am planning a new build once the new batch of MSI P67A-GD55 mobos arrive. My question is, are there any compatibility issues of these three components (mobo: MSI P67A-GD55), (CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS 10X Extreme) and (RAM: Corsair 2 x 4GB Vengeance).

I can't really check it because the shop where I am getting my computer built does not carry that CPU cooler, so I am planning to buying it online and having it sent over to me here, then have the shop install it with the computer.

Hopefully someone will be able to help me out with this. If it is compatible, will I only be able to use RAM slots 2 and 4, or will I also be able to use the first slot.

Hopefully someone with this knowledge will be kind enough to share this with me.

They will not fit into slots that are covered by that HSF which is 1st and second slots on most boards due to Heatspreaders being to tall

Thanks for that info. Does that mean that if I go for RAM's without those large heat spreaders (like the standard kingston hyper x or the corsair xms series), I will be able to use all 4 slots of ram even with the Zalman cnps 10x extreme?

yes....the short heat spreader RAM will fit
