Thanks in advance to all who will read and respond.

I'm finalizing a new non-gamer, office work station build with the following components to run MS Office and do light video, audio and Photoshop editing:

Proposed PSU: SeaSonic X series SS-400FL Active PFC F3 400W ATX12V Fanless 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

CPU:Core i5 2500K

MOBO: Asus Rock Z68 Pro3

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL7D-4GBXH

CD/DVD: SUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM

Video: XFX HD 4770
(Note: I bought this pre-owned board because it has 2 dvi ports for dual monitors. Later I learned that by using an hdmi-to-dvi cable I can accomplish the same, i.e. run dual monitors. Thought I'd still include the card for light video editing -- unless you think 2500k can handle without the HD 4770)

Case: Antec P180 full tower with one rear fan.

Although pricey, I'm considering the Seasonic 400W fanless PSU for both its fanless construction and its high energy efficiency.

Here are my 2 q's:

1) Is a 400W psu sufficient given the equipment specified above?

2) For the work purposes mentioned above (MS Office, light video/audio and Photoshop editing, am I crazy to buy the Seasonic as opposed to a cheaper model like the Antec EarthWatts Green EA-380D Green 380W Continuous power ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply (w/ fan).

Thanks again for any advice you can provide! [:henry chinaski:9]

Yes.

Thanks "browsing the web!"

If you were doing the build for the purposes I specified, what PSU would you spec?

I wouldn't bother building it if it's not for gaming. The 2500K isn't going to make office run any faster. 350-400W is about right but you can usually find better deals for an assembled desktop online. Like $400 for an i3 desktop with Windows.
