Could i use a 6970?

Do u think my pc with core 2 quad 2.5 GHZ, 8gb of DDR2 and core 2 quad 2.5ghz and extreme power 600w can make good use of the 6970 or even support it? or should i go with something else?

Yes it can.
Depends on your motherboard though. List its specs. As for psu , am guessing its a Cm, then you are fine.

ACCORDING TO THIS YOUR SYSTEM SPECS ARE FINE. and you are good to go!. try to overclock your cpu to gain 3.0 or 3.5 ghz. and about your power supply use this and calculate the power needed.

Of course u can use hd6970 BUT your 2.5 ghz will definitely Bottle neck it , it will require at LEAST a 3ghz core2 .

It would only bottleneck if you are playing at a low resolution. At 1080p or higher, it would mostly be fully utilized depending on the game.
