Best Graphics Card for My Current Setup

Hi.

In mid-February I will be upgrading my GPU and monitor. I currently have a C2Q9400 w/ 4GB 1066 RAM. The monitor I have decided on is a 24" 1080p(the popular Asus on newegg). My GPU budget is flexible. I'd like to spend between $200-350.

Also, this article about memory upgrades is making me consider buying a card closer to $200 and sinking the remaining money into 4 more GB of RAM.

So: based on my CPU, RAM, resolution and time of purchase(mid-February); what GPU should I choose between $200-350 and would it be worth sacrificing GPU power to add additional system RAM?

Thanks!

P.S. my motherboard has a 400mhz FSB wall thus capping my q9400 at 3.2ghz

Yes, I have done a lot of research on all of the GPU's in the $200-350 range. My question is more about which card would fit best with my particular system, and would it be worthwhile to sacrifice GPU(ie gtx460 instead of 570) in favor of 4 more GB of RAM.

Oh right in that case, get the 570 or flashing a 6950 if you can. 4GB is not gonna do much more for your gaming now than it is doing today. Getting a 570 im sure will be a very much better decision if you are a gamer. 8GB is not even neccessary.

I appreciate your help. However, why would I grab a 6950(and flash to 6970) when I could get a 570? Also, I'm concerned that a 570 is overkill for a C2Q w/4GB @ 1080 which is mainly why I have asked which card would be the best solution. I was also hoping to find some insight into what may be around the corner in February(for example the 560 drops today).

Tomorrow the GTX560 is coming out, I would get that if I were you. It is supposed to be the best mid-ranged card in ever.

I would purchase a 6850 for around 185$, in the future u can add another one for a powerful crossfire configuration. You always need to think of the future trust me, I'm stuck with a gtx 285 lol.

Well, the GTX285 is by no means a bad card. It performs at the same level as the hd6850, just older.

I'm stuck with the issue of buying another one for $149.00 and putting it in sli, or buying another card.
