Gaming system under $1000 including monitor

I am trying to build a gaming system for under $1000, but I will also need a monitor and Windows 7. I have never built a computer before, should I just configure one on ibuypower or cyberpower? How much will I be overpaying?

Or should I just go with this: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-6950-unlock-build-a-pc-overclock,2893.html and lower some parts so I can afford it plus the monitor and Windows?

If you are really going to buy windows, don't buy Ultimate, buy Home Premium.

Looking over my build above I think even though the PSU is solid a would handle the GPU just fine I would you to consider a $30 -MIR = $10 cost upgrade to 650w quality PSU

I also realized that I don't need to get a copy of Windows. I bought a student copy of it for $29 back when it came out but I never used it.

Great! maybe you can use some of than extra $ and get the better PSU I suggested.
