Forum CPU & Components : CPUs Best Processor for my configuration

this is my configuration :

MSI 790GX-G65
2X2GB DDR3 Corsair XMS3 1333MHz CLK9 RAM
Sapphire HD 6850 1GB
Cooler Master RS500 extreme psu

basically needed for gaming and movies

which AMD processor will u assist guys
budget > $200

Phenom II X4 955 is the only reasonable choice.

Tru dat. You can't drop AM3+ in that board, the X4 955 at $115 is a safe bet.

So you have a 200$ budget for a CPU. Nice. Surely get the 955 BE and then use the saved cash to get a better power supply. That particular CM unit you have chosen is crappy to say the least. Get something like a Corsair TX 650 V2. You would still have enough cash left to get a good aftermarket CPU cooler.

I mostly agree with Emperus, although you don't need 650W; 500W would be sufficient (your GPU would actually run on a 380W Earthwatts, as the last $500 SBM machine clearly showed).
