My new build has a Rosewill Challenger usb3.0 case with an Asrock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 mobo. There are 2 functional usb3.0 ports on the back case... but the front case has 2 nonfunctional usb 3.0 ports as there is no usb 3.0 header on the mobo. Is there some sort of workaround to get the 2 front ports working, even if its 2.0 instead of 3.0?

I had a similar prolem with my Corsair vengeance case. I can't speak to quality, as I haven't bought anything yet, but there are PCI to USB 3.0 header cards, for example:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&N=-1&isNodeId=1&Description=pci+to+usb+3.0.

I'm pretty new to this too, so I'm sorry to say that's about all I know, except for the general shop around, look at reviews, etc. Best of luck!

You can get 2 of these (one for each usb 3.0 port on the front of your case, your internal connector coming from the front of your case is set up for 2) and plug them into the back usb 3.0 connectors and run the cables from there back inside the case through one of the expansion slots. From there all you have to do is plug each one into the connector coming from the front of the case. Isn't the best looking setup but if you want the use the ones on the front of the case where it's convenient it will do the trick.

Get them HERE - http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=34_81_250&products_id=31767
