Upgrading ram need help!

HI, i have 3 2g sticks of ddr3 tripple channel ram and the asus p6x58d Premium motherboard, im looking to upgrade so i have 12 or more, my options are to buy a whole new set of ram or buy another 6 gig's of the same ram as i currently own which would be cheaper. Is that a good idea or what should i do?

Get the cheaper ram and match the brand. You'll have fewer problems. 6-12 gb is plenty for almost any tasks.
