Hello. I recently updated the bios for my ASUS M5A87 to the lastest version (1001). After the update, my pc would crash whenever I tried to play any video games. Thinking that the bios was the issue I downgraded to version 0901. This version still caused the system to crash, so I downgraded even further to version 0803. This version stopped the crashing but now the performance of my gtx 560 ti seems to have decreased.

Usually I play MW3 max settings at 1920X1080 and get a steady 90 fps, now my fps drops to as low as 50 sometimes. Is it a problem with the bios, or maybe some setting got messed up? Any help is appreciated.

My Specs:

ASUS M5A87
Phenom ii X6 1090T
8GB DDR3 Kingston HyperX
Gigabyte GTX 560 TI
600W Xtech PSU

I reinstalled the nvidia drivers as well as the chipset drivers. The fps drops have gotten better. Now it only drops to about 70 fps. However there's a new issue now. I play mw3 and wow for hours with no probs, but when i play cod4 or cod:waw after 20 mins or so, the system shut's down (or something to that effect). The screen goes black, the hdd's power off, but the cpu and gpu fans still spin. If i press the reset button the system resets, if i press the power button everything turns off.

I did the cpu level up available in my bios to auto clock the cpu to 3.9 ghz. Reduced to stock and the problem still persists. At this point i'm convinced it's the psu. I ordered a new thermaltake 600W psu. I'll see if the problem is still there after i install it
