I have an hp pavilion pentium 4 and i'm trying to use a gt 240 card , all i get is a startup screen . Windows will not boot up. My system meets all the requirements for the card. please help me.

If everything is connected correctly then the only thing I can think of is trying to reset BIOS and see if that helps.

Is the card PCIexpress version 2.1 or 2.0? If 2.1 there have been multiple issues with incompatibility with older motherboards, if 2.0 could be a faulty card.

it says it has 2.0 support, whatever that means
