Sarevok kills Drizzt?

Well he did last night. I have a save right before I face Sarevok
(Tazok and Semaj are dead) . I hasted my PC and drew Sarevok to a
Drizzt defender cheat and while it was close , Sarevok did indeed kill
him. To be fair I reloaded and Drizzt triumphed.

But it surprised me ,in toe to toe combat Sarevok took him down.

He didn't handle the 10 drizzt cheats the time before that though!

Also, I haver been reviewing archived posts for the last several weeks
and hadn't seen exactly what is up with "Merlin." You can create a
Merlin character and kill him (he doesn't attack) gaining a lot of
decent magical items. But holding the cursor over the figure gives his
name as your friend "Elminster."

What's weird about that is, I really struggle taking Drizzt down, but found
Sarevok and his minions a piece of cake....

You're usually a much higher level and have better equipment, etc., when you
face Sarevok.

Not when you leave Drizzt without closing the conversation and come back to
whack him later on! He's still very hard to beat even then...

The Drizzt summoned through the cheat is weaker than the normal Drizzt. In
any case, Sarevok, Tazok, Semaj, and Angelo are more powerful combined
than any party in the game; that's not including the traps and Battle
Horrors in the final level. Wearing down Sarevok's band makes him a bit
easier to defeat because he's a straight fighter, and lacks the double
attacks Drizzt gets from his scimitars.

IIRC he's a straight fighter with some hideous AC bonus and hit points....
