First time poster, LONG time lurker (we're talking ~2000 here!).
Would appreciate any suggestions/comments on my build. I have 2 main questions:
i) as this build is right up against my budget cap, is there anywhere you might shift the cost from one component to another to get more capable build (example: spend less on PSU to get a slightly better GPU)?
ii) if I can throw in an extra $100 is it worth getting a 50GB SSD as a boot drive? Or would that $100 be better spent elsewhere?
Here's the situation based on the 'How to ask for help with your build guide':
Approximate Purchase Date: This week.
Budget Range: CAD$1200 + HST (before MIR)
System Usage from Most to Least Important: home office/surfing for my wife, gaming for me.
Parts Not Required: Need everything but speakers
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Using CanadaComputers since there are local stores (so no shipping $$) but TigerDirect has a store nearby as well and will consider online purchase from Newegg.ca or ncix if there's a good reason.
Country of Origin: Canada
Parts Preferences: None (I'm coming from a Mac so I have no ingrained AMD/Intel or ATi/nVidia fanboi tendencies...yet )
Overclocking: Likely in future
SLI or Crossfire: Possibly in future
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1200
