Asus vs gigabyte

I've had both and the Asus MB's seem to be more stable. I've never had a Asus fail. And asus seems to be a more trusted brand. The gigabyte I owned gave up the ghost after about a year. That being said I keep hearing more of and meeting more people (via TS3) that own gigabyte mb's. I'm looking for a balance of stability, performance, and "life span". How long it lasts isnt really a huge factor. I imagine gigabyte has stepped up on quality.

No quality control, Russian roulette. You have about a 50/50 chance of getting one that works 100% correctly.

Gigabyte seems to put more stability into their boards, plus I like their color scheme. Also, why would I pay a premium for an asus board? For cheaper I can get an asrock board with more features, better components, and better overall performance.
