Ok guys i need help to choose my psu because i build my new computer but the psu that i bougth wasn't enough. I have an AMD Phenom X3 720BE, Mobo Asus M2A78-EM, 6gb OCZ Memory DDR-2 800Mhz 2X2 and 1X2, Two Hard Drives 1x500Gb and 1x250Gb, Sony DVD burner, two 120mm case fan coolers, and one Powercolor ATI HD4900. The PSU that i bougth was an Cooler Master of 500W. and wasn't enough. How much watts do i need from a PSU to my system? I was thinking in a Thermaltake Purepower 600w. Thanks in advance.

Hi thanks for your quick reply, i have the money to buy the new psu, the thing is that i've used the 500w PSU and gives me bad video some green stripes apears at the screen. Powercolor support team told me that it was for low voltage. What do you think?... Merry Christmas

A high quality 500 watt power supply with sufficient current (amps) on the +12 volt rail can easily power an overclocked system with any single video card currently made.

A high quality power supply will have a +12 volt rail rated at about 40 amps.

The Corsair VX550 suggested by szbxa is an high quality power supply with a single large +12 volt rail rated at 41 amps. Corsair has a reputation for high quality power supplies that consistently earn high marks in technical reviews. They are stable, reliable, and come with a 5 year warranty.

Are you sure you have an ATI Radeon HD 4900 series video card? At the beginning of this year and throughout the Summer there was a lot of speculation in the forums about what ATI would name their new energy efficient video cards based on 40nm technology. ATI decided to skip 4900 and go with 5000 series.

Hi JohnnyLucky thanks for your reply, the PSU that I have is Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus Series 500W, in amazon I could find the next specifications:

I couldn't find the 41 amps at the +12V rail so I think that my problem is that, so I am thinking to buy this PSU Thermaltake 600W PurePower ATX
SLI / CrossFire Ready MODEL W0121RU for 151$ (In my country everything is expensive) and the Corsair model that i could find was a Corsair CMPSU-750TX 750-Watt TX Series 80 Plus for 215$. Which model do you recommend me?.

Thank you very much.

Note: My GPU is a POWERCOLOR 4900 MODEL AX4900 1GBD5 and i can't buy a new one because i have no more money :(
