Iam buying a new laptop in near future, can any one suggest me which
model is the best for a to be IT professional, in terms of cost and
features. which processor will be good AMD64 or Intel Centrino ?
Whether AMD64 supports connectivity to wireless LAN ? which other
thinks should be considered while buying a laptop ?

It doesn't really matter unless you plan on a lot of battery use, then
you might want a centrino chipset. All cpu's support wireless lan,
some use chipset features, others just have a plain old add-in card.
The chipset such as centrino may save a little power, but I wouldn't
fret over it. Biggest thing to look for is return policy. I wouldn't
buy from anybody who charges a restocking fee.

Lots of laptops come with 4200RPM disk drives, which can be a
performance bottleneck. I don't know if 5400RPM drives provide a
significant benefit, but people who have gone to 7200RPM drives rave
about the improvement.

It's a tradeoff among performance, heat, power consumption and price.
