Has anyone use the following digital calibration software: Profile Prism
from DDISoftware? If so how do you like it? How does it compare with
packages that are more expensive and have a monitor measuring device?

What do you want PP for?

As a monitor profiling package, a net search
will reveal as good or better, for free. There's
only so far you can go without a measuring device.

As a printer profiling package, it's the best of
the cheap ones (ie., those that use a flatbed
scanner to measure a printed target) but that
means it's still hit-and-miss.

DDISoftware is a good outfit, though. Good
support and good value. Just don't expect
miracles.

It's better than nothing but far worse than any of the hardware based
systems. It tends to get the colors somewhat close but usually puts nasty
kinks in the luminance.

I haven't used it but I've read a lot of posts on www.dpreview.com over the
years. It's good if you have a suitable scanner, it has a preference for
LED based scanners like the Canon ones, and there's a dedicated forum on
Yahoo Groups.
