Additional Comments:
I've finally reached that point where I just cant stand to load up old P3 boxes with my project software. I was wondering if anyone who frequents these boards has their virtual thumb on the daily/weekly deals for PC parts. I want to build a system for 200-300 dollars. A compact/smaller case would be awesome but only if it's cheaper. I only need the case, power supply, motherboard with on-board sound and video, RAM and a SATA hard drive. I do have an older hard drive if it brings the prince down again using ATI cables and not having to buy the drive. Any suggestions on combo deals would be awesome.

Thanks for your time.

  1. Hello zaazz

    NewEgg has this DIY combo: $235: Athlon II X3 450 3.2GHz / ASUS M4A88T-M LE 880G MB / 4GB DDR3 1333 RAM & RAIDMAX case w/ PSU
It's only missing a DVD burner and HDD for a complete build.
LG 24x SATA DVD burner $20 Free shipping w/ promo code EMCKFKJ24, ends 4/7
    Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB SATA HDD Free shipping w/ promo code EMCKGHA32, ends 4/4
    (that's less expensive - with free shipping - than a 160GB HDD for $35 and $6.29 shipping)

    ~$295 before taxes & shipping.
  2. If Microcenter is an option

    X4 840 + Gigabyte 760G $99.99

Stuff from Egg $170 ($5 off promo code for PSU)

    $270 total

edit : price change so spring for the 80+ Bronze Antec 430 hehe
