Which should I buy? I'm running 1920x1080, Q6600 3.4Ghz, 37'' 1080p LCD TV. I will be playing all types of high end games and will be watching blu-ray.

MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr OC 880MHZ 1GB GDDR5 - $249.99 CDN

or

XFX Radeon HD 6950 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI HDMI - $274.99 CDN - $10 MIR = $264.99

I have til February 2 to pick one of these up while they are on sale. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

xfx 6950 2 gb is a better card, out shines the 560 in most instances and you can often reflash to a 6970

the only reason i'd go nvidia is if you play WoW or some specific title liek that that prefers nvidia cards alot, other than that a 6950 and reflash is a more powerful option

I've heard some peoples flashed 6950 died on them after a couple weeks. I don't want to take a chance like that with a new card.

If I do not flash the 2GB 6950, just do some light overclocking on it, should I still get the HD 6950 over the MSI GTX 560 TFII?

The MSI GTX 560 does very well in these benchmarks:

just gonna quote the article ya linked :D

"If the release of the GTX 560-Ti didn't do anything else, it did kick the HD 6870's butt. The revamped GF114 core was able to more than outperform the GTX 460, and at some points was almost able to keep up with the 6950"

its an awsome gtx 560 don't get me wrong, but if i had the choice even if i wasn't reflashing the 6950 i'd still go 6950 and just overclock it a bit, if the highly overclocked msi 460 is almost running with a stock 6950 imagine then 6950 overclocked ... just my $.02 on the matter

(note i need cuda so i'd do gtx560... btu if i were buildign a rig and did need cuda it'd be a 6950 )

Alright, I think I'm gonna go with the 6950. Thanks for your input.

To anyone else who, like me, see this page in search for the answer to the question about which gpu is the best i will refer to these benchmarks:
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2011/01/27/ms...
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_560_Twin_Fro...
http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/MSI-N560GTX-Ti-T...
And i could link more..
The point being that the gtx 560 twin frozr II oc edition beats the hd 6950 in almost every single game at the resolution 1680x1050 and 1920x1200.
Then add the easy overclocking, which brings the perfomance of the card to the level of a stock gtx 570.. and you have the clear winner!
