I need to replace my 7800gt because it freezes up playing directx games, makes me disconnect if playing online. I'm super rich so I was looking at the geforce 210 since its in my budget(less than $50).

I'm currently playing games like Quake Live, Trackmania, and Starcraft 2, the only newer games that look interesting are portal 2 and Rage. Just wondering if the 210 will work for me.

My awesome pc specs:
Athlon 4000+ 2.4ghz
2gb DDR2 ram
7800gt

The GT210 is an uber crap card. Minimum gaming card you'd want is the GT240, 9600GT, or 88/9800GT. Over on AMDs side you'd want the 4670, 5570, 5670, or better.

Trust me when I say you will be disappointed by the GT210. Your ancient 7800GT is probably faster.

I can't spend more than $50 right now, even if there's a rebate.

I can get a 9500gt with DDR3, which should be about the same as my 7800gt. Might be able to grab a 8800gt for less than $50.

A DDR3 9500GT is the same as an overclocked 8600GTS. Those were around the speed of the 7900GS, which is probably close to the 7800GT. In other words a DDR3 9500GT probably isn't faster then your current card, but at the same time it won't be slower. It will use less power and emit less heat so thats good. If you can find a used 8800GT that would be a step up. I'd definitely hit the used forums to see what you can find.
