Triple display Question

Hi Everyone! My Current setup I am running one single HD 5770 video card and two displays.To be able to add one more display it is my understanding that I will need to purchase an Active Display Port Adapter which the cheapest I have found is $89.00. I Can Purchase another HD 5770 from a friend for $50.00 which will save me some money.My question is If I use the two HD 5770's in crossfire mode will I Be able to run three displays without having to purchase any additional components or am I better off buying the display port adapter? Thank you for any help you can provide!

You would still need the adapter since in crossfire you will be using the outputs from one card.
