How do i know if my inspiron 530 is getting power

Inspiron 530 will not power on. However, when attaching the power cord, there is a green light that appears on the back, just below the power cord.

That is just the power supply light. It's there to indicate that the power supply is receiving power. It doesn't indicate that the power supply is functioning properly or that the motherboard is receiving power though.

What happens when you hold the front power switch in for at least five seconds?
  2. You can also try to jumpstart your PSU "dry" to check if the PSU is working correctly.
Disconnect all cables in the system from your PSU and follow instruction on this site:

  3. Didn't realize it was still under warranty. Called Dell and they replace the motherboard and power supply. Not sure which was bad, but it is now working. Thanks for your replies.
